In the spring on 1998 Shadow Pointe was formed. The lineup consisted of current members Dave Cornellier and Craig Simmons, with
original members Joe Stedman, Chuck Wixsom, and Paul Bellos. With the intent of pulling away from the “cover scene”, Shadow Pointe
quickly got to work. After a few local performances Chuck left the band and Shadow Pointe was in search of a new lead guitarist.
Paul Mallory then stepped in and helped push the band back to writing and recording. Shortly afterwards the 7-song self-titled CD
was released, currently available in a remastered version. After a short run on the local circuit Paul left to pursue other
interests and Shadow Pointe was in search of a consistent lead guitarist.
The following 2 years proved very testing to the band’s soul. Joe left for personal reasons and Chris Forte came in with new energy
to the project but Shadow Pointe still lacked a lead guitarist. With the loss of Chris in a tragic accident the remaining members chose to
take a long overdue hiatus. After three months Dave and Craig got back to work writing Reason Beyond Acceptance.
Then by chance, through mutual friends, Shawn Maschino came into the mix on guitars completing the lineup. With Joe back on bass
and Paul Delasco on keys RBA was completed. With great reviews from the progressive metal scene the band was taking off. A live CD
followed, with original guitarist Chuck stepping in to play bass, and the core band, Dave, Craig, and Shawn, completed the 3rd studio album
Situations. The band continues to thrive in the prog-metal scene thanks to their loyal fans and evolving sound.
